CAMDEN, NJ (PRWEB) April 06, 2022
NFI, based in Camden, NJ, has taken the initiative to emphasize the importance of health and wellness for its employees. As stress has had an unprecedented impact on our health during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading supply chain provider NFI, along with CEO Sid Brown, recognizes the value of health and wellness company employees.
While playing basketball at just 40, Sid Brown experienced his first of many encounters with heart failure. A piece of plaque broke off from one of Sid’s arteries and created a severe blockage, causing a major heart attack. From then on, Sid’s appreciation for health and the importance of excellent medical care were defining factors in his professional and personal life. There’s no better example of fulfilling your mission than NFI’s recent partnership with the American Heart Association.
NFI’s Driving for Change award honors employees who have taken significant steps to improve their health and overall quality of life. With over 100 submissions for the award, NFI honored two employees whose efforts stood out among the rest. “We are thrilled that our employees share my passion for health and wellness and we are proud of all of our employees who have made an effort to improve their lives,” said Sid Brown, CEO of NFI.
Donald Wiseman, transportation manager from Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, and Albert Yerkes, shipping support center manager from Mickleton, NJ, were honored with the Driving for Change award. They will be Brown’s guests of honor for the Philadelphia Heart Ball on April 7 at the Marriott in Philadelphia.
Donald Wiseman and his wife took steps to make healthy changes in November 2020. Together, the couple lost 150 pounds by making healthier food choices like eating fewer processed foods and adding more fresh fruits and vegetables. The couple now enjoy camping, hiking and the great outdoors with their children.
Albert Yerkes’ journey began in August 2020 resulting in his weight loss of 150 pounds. When Al realized his young daughter would be on the go and he would have to keep up, he started a serious diet and exercise program. Al credits his daughter with motivating her to turn her life around.
NFI’s support of the American Heart Association is an extension of the company’s commitment to employee health. NFI CEO Sid Brown is the 2022 chairman of the Philadelphia Heart Ball.
