As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence, the Ministry of Energy today organized a ‘Bijli Mahotsav’ under the Ujjawal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya Program here in Utterbehni, Samba.
The program was organized by JPDCL in collaboration with the Samba district administration. District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma was the guest of honor at the ceremony which was also attended by DDC Vice Chairman Balwan Singh; Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta along with other DDC and PRI members.
In his address, the guest of honor highlighted the creation of extensive infrastructure to enhance the power supply scenario in Samba district. He said the 24-hour power supply to the remote Purmandal Utaerbani region itself is a testament to the government’s achievements recorded in the electricity sector.
He said no village was without power supply in Samba district. The Bijli Mahotsav is celebrated across the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power@2047 for greater public participation and bringing developments in the power sector to citizens. to the big one.
During the program, key achievements in the power sector included the multiple increase in generation capacity moving the nation from a power deficit to a power surplus country, the addition of new transmission lines, connecting the entire country into a single network operating on one frequency, emerging as the largest integrated network in the world.
To engage with visitors and guests, cultural programs, nukkad nataks and screenings of short films on the energy sector were also organized. Letters of thanks and gifts were distributed to beneficiaries and participants.
