The Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Representative Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday ordered five routes facilitated by the Chairman of the House Defense Committee, Representative Babajimi Benson, in the federal constituency of Ikorodu in the state of Lagos.
The road projects, which involved the construction of connecting roads in the Sabo to Ikorodu area, connected Ayangbadejo Street, Kaz Avenue, Ajeborigbon Street, Nike Olubodun Street and Ajoke Oduyebo Street.
At the event, which was attended by traditional rulers led by the Supreme Ruler of Ikorodu and Ayangburen Division of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi; President-elect of the Lagos State Section of the All Progressives Congress; party leaders; Lagos State government officials; and residents, the President congratulated the people for being the beneficiaries of the projects and congratulated Benson on representing his constituents well.
He said, “I am here to support Representative Babajimi Benson and the people of Ikorodu in bringing these roads into service.
“I’m happy when my members are doing well and Rep Benson is doing well.
“He has proven himself as a good representative, even in Abuja. “
Prior to the commissioning ceremony, the President visited Oba Shotobi’s palace during a courtesy visit.
The Oba, in the presence of its leaders, thanked the president for his visit.
He said that although Gbajabiamila had visited him several times before, it was the President’s first official visit.
Gbajabiamila thanked the traditional chief for receiving him so warmly.
He also thanked the Kabiyesi for always providing constant support and guidance.
Gbajabiamila also visited Representative Benson’s constituency office and was shown a tour of the office, including the office of the radio station, Ikorodu FM 106.1, which is located within the constituency office compound.
The President was invited to say a few words to the radio listeners and urged them to be peaceful, praying that the new year would be prosperous for the country.
