Saudi envoy calls on president

Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Yussef Essa Al Dulaihan met with Jatiya Sangsad President Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at his office here on Sunday.

During the meeting, various issues of bilateral interest, including the relations between the parliaments of the two countries, the parliamentary friendship group, investment and development were discussed.

Describing Saudi Arabia as a longtime friend of Bangladesh, President Dr Chaudhury said creating job opportunities in Saudi Arabia for more skilled Bangladeshi workers is a laudable initiative.

She requested Saudi Arabia’s comprehensive cooperation for the development of Bangladesh in the future.

The Saudi ambassador invited the president to attend as the main guest a celebratory program to be organized to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.

He said the parliamentary friendship group can play an important role in strengthening ties between the two parliaments and the two peoples, according to a parliament document.
