Steven Perskie featured speaker at Atlantic Cape’s “Voices and Votes” event

ATLANTIC CITY – More than 40 years ago, a referendum approved by voters in the state of New Jersey paved the way for the legalization of casino gambling in Atlantic City.

Join Atlantic Cape Community College at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10 on the Atlantic City campus for a discussion on this referendum with the Hon. Steven P. Perskie, former Atlantic County Superior Court Judge, state legislator, and chairman of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. Perskie, a native of Atlantic City, was a strong casino gaming advocate and authored the New Jersey Casino Control Act.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants can either attend in person in room W103 at the Atlantic Cape Worthington Atlantic City campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., or via Zoom at https://atlantic-edu.zoom.us/j/99108256127.

This is the third discussion in the college’s “Voices and Votes” speaker series leading to Atlantic Cape which hosts the Smithsonian Institution’s “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America” ​​traveling exhibit at its Mays Landing campus in July and August.
