The second season of Call of Duty: Vanguard has arrived, finally bringing new weapons, maps and ranked games. While revealing all of this new content, Sledgehammer Games also teased what’s to come later in Season 2.
Here’s everything we know about Vanguard Season 2’s upcoming mid-season update, including the expected release date, Arms Race mode, weapons, and ranked play rewards.
Vanguard Season 2 Mid-Season Update Release Date
As you’d expect, the Vanguard Season 2 mid-season update will launch around the middle of the season. With the Season 2 Battle Pass set to expire on April 27, we expect the mid-Season 2 update to go live during the week of March 21, 2022.
Sledgehammer Games has yet to reveal the exact date, so we’ll let you know when they do.
New Arms Race mode is coming to Vanguard Season 2
Call of Duty’s developers revealed that Vanguard will be getting a new mode in the Mid-Season 2 Update – Arms Race.
Although we don’t know much about this mode yet, they confirmed that “an arms race with armored war machines is more important than an infantry fight”, and that you will “ride motorcycles, squad transport vehicles and tanks on their way to destroy the enemy”. basics. »
The fan-favorite Ground War mode has been leaked for Vanguard Season 2, so Arms Race might have some similarities. But, we’ll have to wait and see what Sledgehammer has in store for the mode.
New weapons are coming later in Vanguard Season 2
While the Vanguard Season 2 Battle Pass added the KG M40 and Whitley, the ice ax and Armaguerra 43 SMG will arrive during the season.
The ice ax is confirmed to be both a melee and throwing weapon, so we’ll have to wait and see how it works once it’s in-game. And the Armaguerra is described as a “very high-rate SMG of fire” which is “effective in short and medium range engagements”.
There’s no official release date for these weapons, but it’s likely that one or both will arrive with the Mid-Season 2 update, similar to the Welgun from Season 1.
More Ranked Play Rewards are coming
Ranked play has officially arrived in Call of Duty: Vanguard, allowing players to play like the pros, climb skill divisions, and earn rewards to show off.
Players can currently earn Calling Cards, Emblems, and an Operator Skin for Solange, but the developers have confirmed that they will be adding more rewards later in the season.
The February 17 patch notes read: “Additional Ranked Game Rewards such as Weapon Blueprints, Camouflages, Charms, Master Skill Division Operator Skin, and many more arrive during the season.
They haven’t revealed when these rewards will arrive, but we’re expecting them around the same time as the Mid-Season 2 update.
