PC time: Youth Motivational Speaker Josh Shipp author of Whatever Happens: A Foster Family Story and The adult guide for teenagers, shared her story while emphasizing her mantra “Every child is a caring adult far from a success story.”
“Today’s event is really about the heart of our mission: to find families for kids“, FromPelchin board chair Kay Forbes told the audience. “By being here today, you are helping to support FromPelchin in our efforts to find love families for children who need it. I can think of no more worthy cause.
Topping the charge that raised more than $530,000 were chairs Santos and Richard Hinojosa and Laura and Jason Rock.
The event honored the Glenda and Russell Gordy family with the Kezia 2022 FromPelchin Award. The generous family has volunteered, organized giving campaigns, matched donations from its employees and, over the past four years, has matched all holiday gifts to FromPelchinup to $200,000 per year.
“As far as the Gordys are concerned, what interests them the most is the children,” said DePelchin CEO Jennifer Jarriel. “Everything they do for DePelchin is because they share our vision of a world where all children are safe and healthy.”
DePelchin’s initiatives range from foster care and adoption to parenting classes to on-campus counseling for students and much more. The goal is to provide comprehensive services focused on ensuring that all children are part of safe and caring homes.
