Estate Agent Barricades Home After Woman Pulls Knife During Private Screening | New

A real estate agent barricaded himself in a house after being shot at during a recent display of a house in the Hundred Oaks neighborhood, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department official.

The incident took place on November 15 in the 2500 block of Rhododendron Ave around 5:30 p.m., BRPD spokesperson Sgt. said Don Coppola Jr.

The agent was showing a house to a woman on a private date when she pulled out what he believed to be a knife as she visited a guesthouse at the back of the property, said Coppola.

He quickly returned to the front yard where his car and the woman’s car were parked. However, the officer saw a man exiting the driver’s seat of the woman’s car as he approached.

He immediately fled to the house, locked the door and called 911. As he waited for authorities to arrive, he heard banging and attempts to break into the building.

When he finally saw that the woman’s car was gone, he ventured outside the house to find that they had searched his own vehicle.

Coppola said authorities are still looking for the suspects. Their car has been described as a compact white vehicle, possibly a Nissan. Police believe there were several occupants in the car.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
