Alabama football has had several influencers speak to its players during fall camp.
Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Stephen A. Smith, Charles Barkley, Michael Phelps and Larry Fitzgerald are a few big names that coach Nick Saban let influence his players. After Thursday’s practice, NBC’s Maria Taylor was the guest speaker.
She challenged Saban to an on-court GOAT match, interviewed Saban, Tua Tagovailoa, DeVonta Smith and Jalen Hurts, and grew into her broadcast coverage. Taylor conducted Saban’s infamous interview in the 2018 season opener for Alabama against Louisville, but the two are on top. She spoke with Saban in his office before delivering her message to the players.
Taylor, a University of Georgia alumna, shared her story with Crimson Tide players. She received an Alabama jersey with her name on it and found another former Bulldog in Joe Cox. Cox is the new tight ends coach at the Tide, but he played quarterback at Georgia. Alabama has taken the messages from its loudspeakers and is using them to fuel this season.
Hopefully Taylor’s message prepares players to be champions on and off the court.
