XLRI Jamshedpur to Host Operations and Supply Chain Conclave on May 29

Jamshedpur, 23rd May: The XLRI ExPGDM batch of 2021-22 will host the second edition of clock speedXLRI’s flagship Operations and Supply Chain Conclave, the 29and May 2022. It would be a virtual event and the theme for the conclave is “Creating value through a sustainable supply chain’. The conclave is facilitated by the XLRI ExPGDM Student Placement Committee.

The Operations and Supply Chain Conclave will be inaugurated by Dr Raghu Tata who is Chairman of Father Arrupe Center for Ecology & Sustainability and Associate Professor of Strategic Management at XLRI Jamshedpur.

After the welcome address by Dr. Raghu Tata, the guest of honor Prashant Yadav, Affiliate Professor of Technology and Operations Management at INSEAD and Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development and Lecturer at Harvard Medical School, will share his thoughts on “Thoughts on supply chains that save lives and improve sustainability ». This would be followed by a keynote address by Ranjan SinhaChief Group Shipping, Tata Steel on the theme “Volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity: how to best position people, process and technology to define the supply chain vision for 2025 and beyond”.

The day will continue with an expert opinion session on the subject, “Are supply chains at risk of disruption due to ESG concerns?”. It will be a round table composed of eminent leaders such as Jasmeet Singh MarwahVice President, Moglix, Naresh Babu GuttaDirector – Corporate Finance and Head of Procurement, Snapdeal, Arvind Singh RanaPartner, Vector Consulting Group, and Richa PantsFounder, Harmony INC. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Bijaya K MangarajProfessor, Production, Operations and Decision Sciences Area, Jamshedpur.

After lunch, the first session would be yet another expert opinion segment in the form of a roundtable discussing the topic, “Can digital accelerate our journey to Net Zero? » The discussion panel would be made up of such luminaries as Shom ChatterjeeVice President – Head of Purchasing and Logistics, ITC Limited, Shailen Shuklahead of logistics, Pictruc, Neha ParekLogistics Manager, Godrej Consumer Product Ltd. and Vivek Bhatia, MD and CEO, Thyssenkrupp. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Sayan MukherjeeAssistant Professor, Production, Operations and Decision Sciences, XLRI Jamshedpur.

Following the aforementioned session, there would be a keynote address by Shubhrangsu DuttaDirector – Supply Chain Femcare, Procter & Gamble on “Supply Chain Resilience”. This would be followed by an expert opinion session which would be a panel discussion among industry figures such as Niraj AmbaniGroup President – Supply Chain, Reliance Industries Limited, Nishith RastoguiFounder and CEO, Locus, Pradeep Jadhavco-founder and director, Thoucentric and Saibal Nag, Asst. Vice President (Supply Chain Modernization), Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd. (The Times Group). The topic of discussion would be “Will sustainability compel executives, customers and investors to seek long-term value? » and it would be moderated by dr. Abishek ChakrabortiProfessor, Production, Operations and Decision Sciences, XLRI Jamshedpur.

Following the above sessions, a series of keynote speeches by Yogesh SarinDirector – Supply Chain, Dell Technologies on “Supply Chain Transformation” and Daryl WatkinsSenior Director – Supply Chain, GEP Worldwide USA on the theme “ESG within the Supply Chain”.
